That marked the seventh straight game in which the Goldeyes surrendered the first run, stretching back to the beginning of their last series against the Chicago Dogs. Kansas City added to its lead in the second inning when centre fielder Keon Broxton doubled to centre, scoring two runs to make it 3-0. Winnipeg got on the board in the third inning, when centre fielder Tra Holmes scored on an Andy Armstrong fielders choice to make it 3-1. In the inning, Goldeyes third baseman Dayson Croes recorded a single to right field, extending his American Association-best hit streak to 23 games. In the fourth inning, Winnipeg loaded the bases but stranded all three runners. The Monarchs added two more runs on a Gavin Collins two-run blast to centre field to make it 5-1. Max Murphy closed the gap to 5-3 after he doubled to centre to bring home Croes and Armstrong in the bottom half of the seventh. In the eighth, Croes recorded his second hit of the game to bring home Brynn Martinez to make it 5-4. That was followed by an Armstrong sacrifice fly to left that scored Holmes to tie it at five. A scoreless ninth for both teams sent the game to extra innings, where Kansans City pounced early to take back the lead. A single from Monarchs right fielder Micker Adolfo scored Collins from second to make it 6-5. The Goldeyes responded with a run in the bottom half, with Croes striking again and scoring Holmes on a double to right field to knot things back up 6-6. The Monarch ultimately recorded the decisive runs in the top of the 11th when first baseman Jan Hernandez doubled to left to bring Broxton and Dylan Rosa home to make it 8-6. Croes finished the game with three hits and two RBIs. Goldeyes fall once again to Kansas City Monarchs on home field Goldeyes need 11 innings to complete sweep of Dogs Monarchs right-hander Grant Gavin 1-1 entered the game in the 10th and recorded the win. He allowed two runs on two hits while striking out five. Their starter, Dalton Moats, pitched into the fifth while allowing one run on six hits. Cam Opp of the Goldeyes 1-3 took the loss. He entered in the 10th and allowed two runs on one hit. Goldeyes starting pitcher Tyler Jandron went seven innings. He allowed five runs on 11 hits.
